PARENT SERVICE HOURS

Each family is expected to contribute parent service hours each year.  Each family is expected to serve 20 service hours per semester.

Half of the required service hours are due each semester. 1st semester due December 15th/ 2nd semester due April 30th.  Parent service hours will be billed at $20 for each hour not served by the required deadlines. SORRY. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Failure to attend mandatory parent meetings will result in a $50 no-show fee per missed meeting.  Mandatory meetings are indicated as such on the school calendar.

It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to contact the school for service hour opportunities.  All service hours must be recorded in the parent service sheet issued by the school administrator. Failure to perform required hours by the due date will result in a $20 fee per hour not serviced. Only designated school administrators and/or PTO representatives are authorized to sign the parent service sheet.

Due to the COVID-19 circumstances, PMA will waive the Parent Service hour requirements for the 2020-2021 school year. However, there are times throughout the year where the school relies on the generosity of parent donations for various items that are used to fulfill the service hour requirement. We would ask your assistance and consideration when these requests are made.

Donations for Service Hours

Service hours may be given for product donations for special events and needs.  One hour is given for every $10.00 worth of product.  Paper donations are limited to 10 hours total.  Receipts are required for proper credit.

MANDATORY FUNDRAISING

As a non-profit organization, the school relies on school fundraisers and other charitable efforts.  Participation in school wide mandatory Fundraisers is required as indicated on the Tuition Agreement form.  Families are still responsible to pay the cost of fundraisers regardless of participation. Fundraising fees will be billed to the student account.  Further details on fundraising opportunities available are provided at the beginning of each school year.  These fundraising fees are essential for PMA with the planning and scheduling we have done and help to make to the gap between tuition and actual cost to educate students. The school fundraising fees are comprised of $250 for a Fall Raffle and $250 for a Spring Fundraiser. PMA will be holding the annual Fall raffle fundraiser and will be introducing Scrip sales for the spring fundraiser. More information will follow regarding scrip sales.

Shop with Script Policy

St. Pius X - St. Matthias Academy participates in the fundraising program Shopwithscrip as the Spring Fundraiser for PMA. The main focus is the parents to participate in the Shopwithscrip to get rebates by buying egift and gift cards through the phone app. 100% of the rebates earned by the family will get credited to the family's Smart Tuition account going towards the Spring Fundraiser amount. If the family is short the goal amount of $250, then the family would pay the balance of the $250 minus all rebates earned by the family. If the family goes over the amount, then the credits can be used towards all tuition and fees that PMA would charge the family for the students in the family including athletic fees, club fees, AP fees, etc. Any credits that remain at the end of the school year can be rolled over in the same family. There are no refunds to families on the amounts earned through Shopwithscrip.

ANNUAL FUND FAMILY CONTRIBUTION: All families are expected to make a charitable donation of an additional amount to the Building a Legacy Fund. Information regarding the Building a Legacy Fund is available to all families through the Development Office. Parents are encouraged to support the school through any Employer Matching fund programs available through their employers, however, each family will have a minimum contribution that is required from each family regardless of the match made available from such programs.  Families who exceed their annual fund contribution through an Employer matching funds program will not receive a refund. Any excess credit will be considered an additional donation. The annual fund is a tax-deductible charitable contribution.
