In the event of absences due to illness, each student needs to make arrangements to complete any missed assignments. When a student is absent from school, he/she has the number of days missed plus one to complete make up work or in the case of an extended absence, special arrangements will be made with the teacher. The parent/guardian or student can contact classmates or set a conference with the teacher to help bring work current. It is not the responsibility of the school secretary to obtain this information for parents or students.
Travel and vacation plans are discouraged when school is in session as students miss out on valuable learning time. If a family chooses to take time off, advance work will not be provided for students as it requires undue time from teachers that is better used to meet the needs of students in class. Students on travel will receive their assignments upon return.
