TUITION ASSISTANCE/FINANCIAL AID BOARD
In the event that a student's family is unable to meet their financial obligations to SPBS in full, and in a timely manner, it is the responsibility of the family to contact the Principal. In the event that a school family knows that it will be an “undue financial hardship" to meet their financial obligations to SPBS for the upcoming school year, they must request tuition assistance, i.e. Financial Aid from the Principal. The SPBS Accounts Manager will then provide you with the required forms to complete. Families then present requested copies of financial records (W-2 forms) and a completed SPBS Financial Aid application to the Tuition Assistance Board. This Board is convened yearly at the request of the Principal and consists of 3 members of the Parish Finance Council (selected by the Pastor and/or Principal), who do not currently have students in SPBS. All financial aid is offered through the prescribed SPBS Tuition Board process, and must be requested in person by the parent(s). Tuition Assistance will not be considered for those families whose financial hardship is derived from sending their child to a Non-Catholic private high school. Information regarding tuition assistance is held in strict confidence by the Tuition Assistance Board, Principal, and SPBS Accounts Manager. The Tuition Assistance Board makes recommendations for financial aid to the Principal after meeting with each family and reviewing their application for aid, who then reviews and approves all recommendations by the Board. Parents receive written notification from the Principal, after their meeting with the Tuition Assistance Board, along with an adjusted tuition amount, and a financial aid contract, which is then signed and returned to SPBS. Each agreement is valid for that current academic year only. Note: Families on tuition assistance will be expected to complete ten (10) additional volunteer hours for the school.
ENDOWMENT FUND
The SPBS Endowment Fund offers a tax-deductible opportunity for parents and other “friends" of SPBS to help provide funds for our Financial Aid program, and expand academic programs. Since its inception in 1997, the Endowment Fund has continued to grow. Its goal is to provide financial support for SPBS now and in the future as needed. We strongly encourage parents, alumni and supporters of SPBS to donate to it.
