Student Threats

The school will take all threats made by students seriously. These include threats to inflict serious harm to themselves or others; to destroy valuable property; making offhand comments or practical jokes. Whoever hears or becomes aware of such threats made by a student should immediately report it to the pastor, the principal, or a teacher.

If the student making the threat is present at school or at a school-sponsored event, the person in charge should question the students involved to determine whether the threat is imminent. Depending on the gravity of the threat, the person in charge should contact law enforcement and the Department of Catholic Schools immediately.
