Section 3-5 – Christian Service Program
The Christian Service Program at Bishop Alemany High School is a required program for all students. It is developed in collaboration with students, faculty, and school leadership, and reflects our Mission Statement:
To be a community enriched by faith that develops intellectually prepared men and women who are committed to promoting a just and peaceful world as conscientious and morally courageous leaders in service to others.
The program is directed by the Campus Ministry Department and administered through each student's Religion class. It is both a graduation requirement and a crucial element of our spiritual formation program.
- All students are required to complete twenty (20) Christian Service Hours per school year.
- At the start of each year, students receive a Christian Service letter/contract from their Religion teacher. This contract must be read and signed by both student and parent/guardian and returned the following school day.
Logging Hours with MobileServe
- Each student is provided a MobileServe account which must be downloaded onto a device.
- Students log their hours on the App by entering the organization supervisor's name and email.
- MobileServe sends the Campus Ministers a notification that service hours have been completed.
- Campus Ministry records and verifies all service hours in the master ledger following the annual May 1 deadline.
- Important Note: Membership in a parish, church or community organization does not automatically count toward Christian Service hours. Students must actively complete volunteer duties and log them in MobileServe. Only verified service hours will be credited.
