Grades can be affected by absences. SJW strongly discourages extended absences due to vacation.
Scheduling make-up tests or other work is at the discretion of the teacher and administration. Students will
receive a zero for absent work until the student makes up the assignments. The student has the same
number of days absent to make up their absent work. It is the student’s responsibility to request and
complete missed assignments.
Any time the student is not present on campus, they are marked absent. Excused absences are those absences when the school is notified by 8:30am that the student will not be present for the day, along with a note from the parent upon a student's return to school.
