SUMMER SCHOOL
(either at SCHS or another pre-approved school)

A student who fails any semester course (F) must make up the course by attending summer school. Consult with a counselor for information about summer school. It is recommended that students also retake any course in which they received a grade of 'D'.  Summer school provides students an opportunity to make up credit deficiencies for graduation and college admission.  Students who want to expand their education may also take summer school courses.

All F's must be made up in summer school before the student may advance in their classes.  If the class is not passed during summer school, the student will repeat the class during the school year.  ALL grades are recorded on the high school transcript and calculated into the GPA.

*Any student taking summer school, whether for recovery or advancement, needs the approval of the Assistant Principal.  Due to our progressive curriculum, not every class can be taken in the summer for advancement.
