Leaving School Early (TK–8)

  • Sign-out required: Students leaving before regular dismissal must be signed out in the school office by a parent/guardian listed on the Emergency/Authorization Form. A government-issued photo ID may be required.

  • Authorized adults only: If someone not on the Emergency/Authorization Form will pick up, the school must receive written authorization (hard copy or verified email) from the parent/guardian before release.

  • Office release only: Students are released through the office—not directly from the classroom, yard, or curb. The office will call the student from class once the adult arrives.

  • Attendance accounting: Time missed will be recorded as a partial-day absence. Unexcused early departures may count toward truancy thresholds (see Truancy section).

  • Medical/appointments: Please provide a doctor/dentist note or appointment card for early dismissals due to medical reasons so the absence can be excused.

  • Advance notice (when possible): For planned pick-ups, notify the office by 8:00 a.m. to minimize instructional disruption. Avoid requesting pick-ups during Mass/liturgies, assemblies, or testing windows.

  • Custody orders: The school will adhere to court orders on file. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide current documentation.

  • Return the same day: If the student returns, they must sign back in at the office before going to class.
