PHYSICAL EDUCATION
All students in Grades TK-8 are required to participate in our Physical Education program. Students who wish to be exempt are to present a written statement from a physician, stating that such activity would be injurious to an individual’s health. Such a student, however, will be required to attend class as a spectator.
Students, who have been absent due to flu, colds, or other illness, will be exempt only if the parent sends a written note requesting such exemption.
Students are to be in proper attire on the days scheduled for Physical Education. Failure to comply with this regulation will result in the student receiving demerits for each day he/she is not in PE uniform. This will ultimately affect the PE grade in the student’s report card.
Additional School Uniform Requirement
All students (Grades 1-8) will carry CLEAR backpacks on campus. TK and K students do not need backpacks.
(revised July 2023)
**Please feel free to ask for clarification on any school uniform items.**
Girls and Boys hairstyles must be neat, simple, of natural color, and combed back off of the face. It should be worn in such a fashion that vision is not obstructed. Dyed, bleached, highlighted or color-treated hair of any kind is not acceptable.
The Administration reserves the right to determine what is deemed appropriate and will give a day for compliance to the proper hairstyle before handing out consequences for first time offenders only. The first day a student arrives at school with hair that is not natural, parents will be called for immediate pick up. Parents are expected to use that time to bring the hair back to natural color. These violations will also be noted on the student’s record as defiance of school rules and authority and will affect their behavior grade.
Boys should keep their hair trimmed in a neat and conservative manner. It should be off the collar and off the forehead; spiked hair must not be longer than one inch in length. Hair must be even all over the head and long enough that the scalp does not show through the hair. Length of hair should be no shorter than a number two. Hair should be combed in a natural young man’s style. Boys must be clean-shaven; no mustaches or sideburns. Hair should be worn in such a fashion that vision is not obstructed.
Please speak directly to the principal regarding length of hair due to a cultural practice/belief.

No ankle/wrist bracelets, chokers or necklaces may be worn. All jewelry should be removed for P.E. Other jewelry is not allowed. It is unnecessary and is a safety hazard during play periods. If students do not observe the dress code, this privilege will be taken from the offending student or the class for the remainder of the school year. The dress code for these occasions will be determined by the Administration and teachers.

Only school jackets with school logo or school sweaters may be worn. The girls have the option of school uniform pants that may be worn anytime. (Please see Michael’s Uniform Paper)
