When, for family reasons, parents wish to take their children out of school temporarily, the principal and teacher will discuss with the parents the possible effects of such an absence. If a student is absent for an extended time, (e.g., 15 or more days), official grades may be withheld unless the work is satisfactorily made-up.

Unscheduled Vacations

Unscheduled vacations during school are highly discouraged and are recorded as unexcused absences.  If such a vacation does occur, teachers are not responsible for planning extra work for students to take with them.  It is a parent's responsibility to hire a tutor to bring the student up to date in the school curriculum before he/she re-enters school after a vacation.  Students are responsible to turn in missed work or take make-up tests upon their return to school.
