The administration and staff of St. Catherine Labouré School seek to measure total student performance including:  class work, homework, evaluative testing performance, class participation, and where appropriate, work on special projects. Therefore, written grades will be given so as to keep students and parents aware of their child's performance. Students in grades 1 and 2 are graded as follows:  O-Outstanding, G-Good, S-Satisfactory, NI-Needs Improvement.

Students in grades 2-8 are graded by percent. The correlation between letter grades and percents is as follows:

A    100 - 96     (4.0)A-     95 - 93    (3.75)
B+     93 - 90     (3.5)B     89 - 87     (3.0)B-     86 - 85     (2.75)
C+     84 - 80     (2.5)C     79 - 75     (2.0)C-     74 - 70     (1.75)
D     69 - 65     (1.0)
F     64 and below

A student with an "F" average (grades 3-8) or with an "NI" average (grades 1-2) in two major subjects may be retained or asked to transfer from St. Catherine Laboure School.
