All SCL Coaches are brought on as school volunteers and will complete
the school’s volunteer requirements. They must complete a background check,
VIRTUS Training, & review and must agree to abide by the SCL Coach Handbook before they
can begin to volunteer. All A level coaches must also obtain a CYO coach card (Play Like A Champion),
it is recommended B level coaches obtain a CYO coach card as well. Coaches are responsible for promoting the qualities necessary for
healthy athletic competition and good sportsmanship: self-discipline,
teamwork, emotional control, hard work, and good citizenship. Coaches
are responsible for ensuring that all team members are supervised at all
times.
Field trip policies apply
to all off-site games. Coaches shall not accept payment from
student-athletes or their families for private coaching during the
regular school year.
