​Disapproved Disciplinary Measures​

​​​The following disciplinary measures are disapproved:

• All corporal punishment, including shaking and slapping

• Language that belittles or ridicules a student, his or her parents/guardians, or his or her family background 

• Using religious exercises as punitive measures. Encouraging contemplation or similar spiritual practices as a means of reflection is acceptable.  

• Bizarre and unusual punishments 

• Withholding or altering rightfully earned academic grades 

• Any disciplinary action that isolates a student without proper supervision
