As an employer, the archdiocese must comply with all state and federal laws on immigration and employment. Only United States citizens and individuals who have the appropriate visa status, which includes eligibility to work in the United States, are allowed to work for any location. This policy applies to clergy, religious, and lay persons. However, as a matter of social justice, the archdiocese is supportive of efforts by immigrant workers to achieve legal status in the United States.
