7.2.5 Carnivals and Fiestas

Carnivals and fiestas involve significant risks and liability exposure; therefore, an approved archdiocesan agreement must be used. The approved archdiocesan contract contains terms and conditions that are essential in reducing the risks of serious injury, including provisions relating to safety certifications, training, and supervision of rides, as well as insurance and indemnity requirements. For guidance in assessing potential risks refer to  Assessing Risk of Certain Activities and Excursions.

Locations should never sign a carnival/fiesta agreement submitted by the vendor. See the sample Carnival/Fiesta Event Agreement.  Volunteers are not authorized to sign carnival/Fiesta agreements. Carnival/fiesta ageements must be signed by the pastor/administrator and must by approved and signed by the archdiocesan Real Estate Department . Send proposed agreements to realestate@la-archdiocese.org.

There is no list of archdiocesan-approved carnival companies.
