It is highly recommended that as a tradition at the
beginning of the school year, faculty members and students consecrate
the school community and school year and dedicate to God their academic
efforts. This would most properly be accomplished through a prayer or act of consecration,
recited together at the opening Mass or religious service of the school
year and dedicated to the Hearts of Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and
the particular patron saint of the school or the school's sponsoring
community. A Teacher Consecration and Commissioning Ceremony is also available for use at a faculty day of recollection at the start of each school year.
