5.11.18 Reduction of Staff

The principal—in consultation with the pastor, where applicable, and the assistant superintendent—retains the right to eliminate teaching and administrative positions for the following reasons:

  • A change in the instructional needs of the school

  • A decrease in enrollment

  • Budgetary constraints

  • Other administrative or managerial concerns

In making personnel decisions for the reduction of staff, the principal should consider:

  • Curriculum and other needs of the school

  • Staff members' professional qualifications and teaching experience in subject areas

  • Performance evaluations

  • Record of discipline

  • Staff members' number of years of service to the school

  • Any other matters that may be pertinent
