5.13.11 Addressing Allegations of Sexual Abuse of Minors and Vulnerable Adults and Reporting to Public Authorities

The archdiocese has developed extensive safe environment training programs for everyone in the archdiocese, including all priests. There are also detailed policies and procedures for addressing allegations of sexual abuse or misconduct by clergy and laity. The policies include procedures for responding to and reporting allegations of sexual abuse of minors and vulnerable adults. The general archdiocesan policies apply to all persons, except as specifically noted. The vicar for clergy and the Clergy Misconduct Oversight Board have particular responsibilities for addressing any allegations of sexual misconduct by priests. See Safe Environment.
