Injury and Illness Prevention Program

All locations are required to create, implement, and maintain an injury and illness prevention program (IIPP). This section provides guidelines and checklists to help locations create an IIPP and identify different hazards to prevent harm to people and property. Once hazards or unsafe conditions have been identified, the locations must take corrective measures or other actions. Training and record-keeping are also essential. No one is expected to perform any task unless it can be done safely.

Some of the elements of the IIPP may overlap with the Emergency Plan. Although both plans should address all required elements, there is no need to duplicate efforts in the implementation of each plan.
