5.10 Records, Required Posters, and Handbooks
Each location should maintain the following
employment-related records in a locked fireproof file or as indicated in the Document Retention policy. The Document Retention Schedule (sorted by category and record type) sets forth the length of time records should be retained.
Recruitment, hiring, applications, and job placement records
I-9 forms (Employment Eligibility Verification)
Child labor certificates and notices (where applicable)
Personnel files for employees
Personnel files for clergy and religious
Payroll records
Benefits information
Employee medical records, including workers' compensation records
Grievance and investigation records
Fingerprint records and subsequent arrest notifications
Background check records (if applicable)
